Wallermadev has been dismissed from the Pirl Team.
This decision was not made lightly, and has come to this conclusion for a number of reasons. First, was a chronic failure to release or submit work in a timely manner; or indeed prove work was making significant progress. Second was a gross dereliction of duty. Third was attempting to repeatedly incite discord among staff. Lastly, the final event to trigger this decision was a conflict of interest, whereby Waller began to work on another project full-time.
The Pirl team is aware that many of you will have concerns and questions. We will attempt to preempt some of these:
Q) How will this affect the Pirl project as a whole?
A) We are confident that this will not negatively impact Pirl development in any way, and will result in a more efficient allocation of dev time and resources. Wallermadev was one developer of seven working on the various parts that make up the Pirl Project. Wallermadev’s tasks have been already reassigned to other developers.
Q) How does this affect the roadmap?
A) The only item that may be affected is the Oystr Wallet. Waller was supposed to be working on and releasing updates for Oystr, but had failed to make significant progress on this or provide reasonable explanations for delays. This section of work has been handed off to another developer.
Q) Does this affect the development fund?
A) Wallermadev was paid (as all staff are) a set weekly amount of Pirl from the devfund to compensate for the time spent working on the Pirl project. The amount is no longer being paid out to Wallermadev, and frees up these funds for other potential purposes. Wallermadev never had access to the devfund wallet or other community wallets.
Q) How will this affect Masternodes?
A) At no point in time was Wallermadev involved in the development of the masternode feature, and as a result of his dismissal from the Pirl team, will not affect Masternodes at all.
We want this to be perfectly clear: This is in no way a political maneuver or the result of a personal grudge. The Pirl team stands together in this decision with the belief that it is the best thing for the project. We are unified, confident, and motivated. Thank you all for your support.
